Bio:

Dr. Denny Scruton is the Director of the Sport Management program at Methodist University. Prior to coming to Methodist, Dr. Scruton has served as an Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, Shenandoah University, and Northern Virginia Community College. Denny received his bachelor’s degree at West Liberty University, his master’s degree at Central Michigan University, and his Ph.D. from Michigan State University.

Denny’s teaching interests include Sport Administration, Sport History, and Event management. His research focuses on preparation of Sport Management majors, and  the connection between athletic participation and academic success.

Denny resides in Pinehurst, NC with his wife Kimberly and his two sons, Kiden and Kolby. In his free time, he enjoys playing basketball, golfing with friends, and coaching baseball for the local parks and recreation leagues.
