Doris Jackson Munoz has always had the passion to work hard and inspire. In May 2021, she was named the Director of Student Retention and Persistence Initiatives in the Office of the Provost, after having served for several years as the Director of the Student Involvement Center, overseeing Student Government, Clubs and Organizations, Fraternity/Sorority Life, Student Media, Student Activities, and Berns Student Center.

Doris graduated from what was then Methodist College and is now Methodist University in May 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education. In May of 2009, she graduated with her Master of Arts in Teaching with a concentration in Physical Education from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. In October 2019, she completed her Ed.D. in Organizational Leadership with a focus on Higher Education. Her dissertation research focused on student veteran experiences with student support services.

She was awarded the Outstanding Faculty/Staff Award in October 2011 by the Alumni Board at Methodist. Her staff has named her Staff Member of the Year in 2010 and 2011. Her student organization, SAC (Student Activities Committee), has been featured by Campus Activities magazine as being one of the top programming boards in the nation.  In Spring of 2013, she was named one of Fayetteville’s Forty Under Forty, an honor recognizing leaders in the community.

In her free time Doris enjoys spending time with her family.
