Bio

Nikki L Kardouni, OTD, OTR/L, CLT, is an assistant professor in the Doctorate of Occupational Therapy Program at Methodist University.  She primarily teaches Case Based Learning I & II, Evaluation of Occupational Performance II, Health Conditions that Impact Occupational Performance, Interventions to Support Occupational Performance in Aging Adults, and Therapeutic Communication & Collaborative Care.  Dr. Kardouni’s areas of expertise include working with older adults in both acute care and the assisted living/dementia care settings as well as working in hand therapy.  She is also a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT).  She received her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Virginia Commonwealth University and her Post-Professional Occupational Therapy Doctorate degree from the Medical University of South Carolina.

Research

Her research focuses on improving student communication with diverse and underserved populations.  Her research in this area received the Health & Humanities Award at the Medical University of South Carolina in 2021.
