Project Description:

Become part of the theatre world without ever stepping on stage! Volunteering at CFRT is a great way to get involved behind the scenes and provide vital support to the Theatre. There are many areas where you can lend a helping hand.

  • Concessions
CFRT is in need of volunteers to help man our concessions booth. This would involve selling drinks and light snacks. You need to be 18 or older to volunteer with a preference for those 21 and over since there is alcohol at the concessions booth.
  • Box Office
Do you have or want box office experience? Do you like getting to know people and having them get to know you? If so, then we’ve got the perfect place for you, in our box office! We need box office volunteers to sell tickets for our shows as well as make sure reserved tickets are honored. Volunteers for the Box Office must be 18 or older.
  • Ushers
The Volunteer Ushering Program at CFRT is a great way to get involved with the Theatre. Ushers volunteer one evening during the run of each production. They meet new people and have fun while doing the Theatre a tremendous service.
  • Technical
Do you love theater and love working with your hands, but you are not about to get on stage and DO THAT! Well, we still need you backstage too! Take this opportunity to learn a new skill, for example, wood-working, making props, sewing … there are many opportunities where no prior skills are required.
  • Administrative
The Administrative volunteer network at CFRT is a great group of faithful volunteers who come together to provide necessary support to our Marketing and Business Offices. Volunteers are needed for a variety of tasks including collating our season programs and labeling and preparing our large mailings.
  • Special Events
It’s time to party and CFRT needs your help to make it happen! We are looking for party people to help with our various receptions and festivals during the year including Blues n’ Brews and Oktoberfest.

Volunteering at Cape Fear Regional Theatre is a great way to contribute your skills and experiences to the Theatre, to gain insight into the inner workings of our organization, meet creative people and develop new skills.
