“Buddhism and Medicine: Insights into Suffering and Healing”

Susan Bauer-Wu, Ph.D., RN, FAAN, integrates scientific research in mind-body medicine, clinical experience as a registered nurse, and mindfulness meditation practice and teaching to improve the well-being of those affected by medical illnesses and help other health care professionals do the same for their clients. She is the president of the Mind & Life Institute in Charlottesville, Va. She is the author of the book, Leaves Falling Gently: Living Fully with Serious and Life-Limiting Illness through Mindfulness, Compassion, and Connectedness.
