Forward Together: Academic Support

Ordering Books

MU has a great partnership with Follett, the company affiliated with our physical and online bookstore. Students have been able to order their books, supplies and soft goods online for some time.

During this pandemic, with everyone needing to be flexible and adapt, there have been significant increases in students ordering their books online. The majority of students do this, in fact, and a high percentage of students have already ordered for this spring.

Students are able to order their books, using a credit card or their bookslips, if they have them (provided they have cleared the Student Accounts Office and been approved for a bookslip), and have their books shipped directly to their homes. Please contact studentaccounts@methodist.edu if you have any questions about bookslips.

While every student may not prefer to order books online, it is something we certainly encourage right away to ensure materials are delivered before classes start.

To order books online, go to: https://www.bkstr.com/methodiststore.

Accessibility & Disability Services

The Office of Accessibility & Disability Services remains committed to providing services to our students with diagnosed disabilities to provide equal access to education. Due to the need to ensure that students are practicing social distancing and that our office continues to provide quality service and operation, please note the following operational changes:

Meetings: Appointment only

  • Accessibility & Disability Services encourages students to schedule virtual meetings (chat, email, phone, zoom) when possible.
  • Face-to-face meetings will be offered when possible and appropriate by appointment only.
  • Intake/medical documentation/appointment requests should be emailed directly to jdoran@methodist.edu.

Instructor accommodation/notification forms

  • Students should request accommodation forms via email or phone call.
  • Students will be given a time for pick up or notified that notification will be send digitally to faculty (when possible).
  • No walk-ins will be permitted.

Test/Exam Proctoring: Appointment only

  • Students must schedule and reserve a proctoring appointment.
  • Scheduling: Send an email to jdoran@methodist.edu to schedule your appointment.
  • No walk-ins will be permitted due to a reduced space capacity and the need to maintain social distancing.
  • Students will be encouraged to arrive no more than 5 minutes prior to appointment or scheduled testing time as we will not permit students to wait inside of the center.
  • Face coverings must be worn.
  • The office has reconfigured furniture inside of the testing center to reduce capacity and allow for physical distancing within the testing room.
  • Students will be asked to check in using a paperless procedure which will be communicated with students at a later date.
