Residence Hall Move-In Information

Hello from the Department of Housing and Residence Life at Methodist University!

We are delighted to welcome you to campus in a few weeks. This message contains important information regarding move-in weekend, so please read carefully.

In the interest of the health and safety of our Monarch Family, all students and families must wear a mask while moving in and while in the gathering spaces of our residence halls. It is the policy at Methodist University that face masks or face coverings must be worn by all employees, students and visitors on campus when in the presence of others and in public settings (e.g., common work spaces, meeting rooms, classrooms, etc.).

Please limit the number of helpers you have during move in to two (2) extra people. This will help us practice social distancing to the best of our ability. You may also wish to consider bringing limited items so that your move in and potential move out processes go more quickly. Please visit our checklist for more information on what to bring and what NOT to bring, including newly updated supplies such as extra masks, soaps and cleaning supplies. Orientation information will be available soon on the MU website.

Move-In Schedule

We are excited to welcome you back to campus in a few weeks.

The first step to returning is to upload your COVID vaccination card:

If you have not uploaded your vaccination card prior to arrival you may bring it with you on move in day or bring a negative PCR test dated within 3 days of your arrival.  If you do not have a negative test or a vaccination card, you will be tested upon your arrival.

All students must check in with the Health Center and Housing. When you arrive to campus, please proceed to the Mathews Ministry Center (circle drive) to check in.  Do not go to your residence hall, as you must be checked in by health services and housing to be cleared to move in.

Please limit your move in help to two people, both of whom must be masked if they are not fully vaccinated.

Check in dates are as follows:

  • Football: Tuesday August 10 from 12 noon – 4 pm
  • New Students: Thursday August 12 from 8 am – 1 pm (late check in until 3:30).
  • Upper-class fall athletes: Friday August 13 from 3pm – 5pm
  • Returning students: Saturday August 14 from 12 noon – 5 pm or Sunday August 15 from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
