Campus Worship – Wednesday, October 19, 2016, 11 a.m. on the Quad

The MU Campus and the community are invited to share in a time of prayer and testimony in response to the challenges and miracles experienced during and after the storm. The dress is casual and all are welcome.

Donate Work Gloves – Deadline, Friday, October 21, 2016 – 12 p.m.

We need to collect 100 pairs of work gloves for the Flood Buckets. Work gloves are the MU “item” for the buckets. Please drop gloves off to Chris’s House, the Mallet-Rogers House, or the Horner Administration Building no later than Friday, October 21 at 12 p.m.

Assemble Flood Buckets – HOMECOMING – Saturday, October 22, 10 a.m. -12 p.m., Upper Berns Student Center

We need all hands on deck – students, staff, faculty, alumni, and friends. MU is partnering with area churches (who have donated items) to assemble 100 Flood Buckets for distribution in the Fayetteville Area. Drop-in format: come when you can and volunteer as long as you can!

Volunteer: Disaster Relief Work Team — Saturday, October 29, 2016 from 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Teams will be cleaning out debris from flooded homes. Light and heavy jobs available for different abilities. Please sign up by email ktaylor@methodist.edu. We will depart from the Berns Student Center parking lot at 8:30 a.m. sharp! Participants should wear long pants, closed toe shoes (preferably waterproof) and clothing that may be ruined.

Methodist University’s Cans Across The Conference Information

The members of the USA South Athletic Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) organizes this canned food drive as a community service competition among the 16 institutions in the USA South Conference. All donations of canned good and non-perishable food items will be donated locally to those in need in the wake of the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew.   • Mallett-Rogers House – Ongoing through November 1
  • Berns Student Center – Oct 19, 21, 24, 26, 28, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Homecoming Football Game- Saturday October 22nd at Monarch Stadium

SAAC will have a pickup truck at the entrance gate with the goal of filling up the pickup truck with canned goods and/or non-perishable food items.

Thanksgiving Food Drive for Second Harvest Food Bank

In advance of Thanksgiving, Community Engagement is partnering with the Second Harvest Food Bank for a food drive on campus November 1-10, 2016. Collection locations will be announced soon. For more information, contact Rev. Kelli Taylor.
