Dear Methodist University Community,
All Methodist University students, faculty, and staff who upload COVID-19 vaccination cards by Aug. 1 will receive a $25 gift card. Getting a vaccination is a contribution to the good of our community, to the safety of all Monarchs, and for that we are happy to offer these gift cards as a way to say “thank you.”
These cards are redeemable at the MU Bookstore, the MU Golf Shop, Walmart, Starbucks, Chick-fil-A, Chipotle, Panera, and a few other locations we will share soon. Students will be able to pick up their gift cards at the Student Accounts Office in the Horner Administration building beginning August 26 (with Student ID). Faculty and staff will be able to pick up their cards at the Human Resources Office in Horner beginning that same day.
Many of us have already uploaded our vaccine verification information which not only qualifies us for the gift card, but offers important information to our Health Services staff as we remain strategic and flexible in our battle against COVID.
To upload your official vaccination verification information, students should click here, and staff/faculty should follow the directions for uploading through PayCom that were shared in my message to you last week.
These links plus all “Back-to-Campus” processes and guidelines — including protocols for mask-wearing, testing, number of guests allowed for move-in (two), etc. — are on the Forward Together web site. Please continue to use this great resource of information throughout the year (and don’t forget to report on the Green Screen health-monitoring app each morning).
The Delta variant of COVID-19 is pushing case numbers up across the country, including in MU’s home of Cumberland County, which has seen a dramatic increase in cases and hospitalizations over the past 14 days. And this new variant is attacking a younger population and making them sicker than ever before. Consequently, MU will continue to follow CDC, state, and local recommendations for our community to receive vaccinations as soon as possible. It’s our very best chance to remain safe and get our campus back to normal operations this fall.
I am confident that, together, we will be successful again this semester, and I can’t wait to get started!
Sincerely,
Stanley T. Wearden, Ph.D.
President
