1. What drew you to MU?
The close-knit community. I love the small class sizes where I have the opportunity to get to know all my classmates and professors. I love that I will always see a friendly, familiar face when walking around campus. Throughout my last three years at Methodist University, I have been able to foster close relationships with both my peers and professors that many college students at bigger universities do not get to experience.

2. Why did you choose Political Science as a major?
Because I knew I wanted to attend law school. Although there are no specific majors required for law school, I knew that the reading and writing skills that I would learn in Political Science classes would adequately prepare me for law school. Additionally, I am genuinely interested in politics and the ways in which politics can so greatly affect the world around us.

3. Tell us about your MU Research and Creativity Symposium project.
It stemmed from my senior seminar class research project. It is a quantitative analysis on survey data regarding confidence in government in the United States. During my research, I surveyed confidence in government against multiple independent variables, such as political ideology, race, age, etc. I was able to make some significant findings that I shared during the symposium.

4. Why did you choose to join your sorority, Alpha Delta Pi?
I wanted to be a part of something that was bigger than myself. Alpha Delta Pi has given me a chance to become a leader on campus, make friendships that will last a lifetime, and give back to my community. I chose Alpha Delta Pi, specifically, due to its work with the Ronald McDonald House as its international philanthropy. I have always had a soft spot for children, so I love getting the opportunity to help sick children and their families through fundraising and volunteer opportunities.

5. If you could enjoy a meal with a political figure, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
I would love to enjoy a meal with Margaret Thatcher (former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom) because I would love to hear her experience as a woman serving as head of government. I would love to listen to any advice that she would give a young woman entering into the field of politics.

6. Tell us about your favorite Political Science exercise at MU.
My favorite political science exercise at MU is the senior seminar presentations. Since my freshman year, I have loved watching the seniors present their research and I am excited for my own opportunity to present.

7. What is your favorite law-based TV show? Does it accurately portray law?
My favorite law-based TV show is “How to Get Away with Murder.” However, sadly, like the majority of all law school shows, it does not accurately portray law (or law school) at all. In reality, the majority of the time, law is not as exciting or full of drama as portrayed in the show. While there are some interesting cases, not every case that an attorney works on is as interesting and dramatic as each case on the show.

8. What has been one of your fondest memories at MU thus far, and why?
The day that I ran home to Alpha Delta Pi. On Bid Day of Fall 2019, I ran home to Alpha Delta Pi and found friendships and a sisterhood that will extend past my time at Methodist University. There is nothing more fun than getting Starbucks and walking through the quad with your sisters.

9. What quote most resonates with you, and why?
“Let all you do be done in love” – 1 Corinthians 16:14
This Bible quote resonates with me because I am a firm believer in intentional love. The world can be such a sad, hateful place sometimes. I believe, as a Christian woman, that I should always do my best to show people that they are loved.
