Methodist University’s General Shelton Leadership Camp is right around the corner and thanks to a grant, more high school students will be able go who otherwise wouldn’t.
The United Way of Cumberland County awarded the Youth Growth Stock Trust grant to Methodist University this week. The grant, worth $5,500, will allow organizers to offer the camp at a free or reduced rate to 11 Cumberland County high school students who face financial barriers.
This summer’s General Shelton Leadership Camp is scheduled for July 24-29, 2022. The one-week camp, which takes place on the campus of Methodist University, will help high school students expand their knowledge and leadership skills.
Eligible campers are selected on a first-come, first-served basis with the deadline for applications, references, and full payment due June 15, 2022. To learn more about the General Shelton Leadership Camp, visit here.
