General Information

The Writing Center exists to help you—MU students, staff and faculty—with all your writing projects, from academic to professional, creative or personal writing.  We strive to create a welcoming, non-judgmental service where all writers, whether experienced or not, can develop their writing skills.

Our professional and student writing consultants can coach you in any academic discipline and in all aspects of writing, including figuring out your assignment or your paper topic, organizing your draft, structuring a solid evidence paragraph, citing your sources correctly, improving clarity, rooting out those last punctuation or citation issues, and everything in between.  Our goal is to foster the skills and confidence needed for writing competence, so essential to academic and professional success.

We’re looking forward to working with you.

Rebecca King is the director of the Writing Center, and Baylor Hicks is the assistant director.
