Center for Academic & Professional Excellence (CAPE)
At the Center for Academic & Professional Excellence (CAPE), medical students benefit from comprehensive academic support services housed within the Student Experience Office. Specialized faculty and learning specialists provide individualized evaluations and academic coaching to ensure students achieve critical competency milestones, optimize their learning capacity, and remain on track for academic and professional success.
Academic counseling and support will be available to all students through CAPE and will provide the following services:
- Pre-matriculation readiness program: an optional one-week summer course offered to all incoming students
- Academic skills professional development series: seminars and workshops aimed at developing skills and strategies for complex learning, studying, test-taking, time management, and board preparation
- Peer-tutoring & Peer Learning Programs providing individual and group peer tutoring services
- Individual academic counseling: one-on-one for students needing additional academic support with Medical Education Learning Specialists (MELS)
