2026 Faculty & Staff Awards

I encourage you to take a few moments to review our teaching and service awards and to nominate deserving colleagues. Please also encourage your students to submit nominees for the awards.

Nominations close February 15, 2026.

The earlier nomination and selection process this year will allow us to announce winners at the Awards Ceremony on Symposium Day on April 8, 2026. We will also celebrate winners at a reception during the Start-of-Semester Faculty Development Conference in August 2026.

Nominations

Nominations for the faculty and staff awards are accepted from December 1 to February 15 each year, and the awards are presented at the Student Awards Celebration on Symposium Day. For more information please see the awards descriptions and nomination forms below:

Distinguished Professor of the Year Award

Every year, Methodist University honors a full-time faculty member who has made a distinct difference in the teaching climate of the university.

Alfred E. Cleveland Award for Excellence in Teaching

A faculty member must have completed three full academic years of full-time teaching at Methodist University before being eligible for consideration, and at least three full academic years must elapse before a prior recipient is again eligible for consideration.

Faculty Mentoring & Service Award

We encourage nominations of faculty who go above and beyond to nurture meaningful connections, a sense of belonging, and embodying Methodist University’s dedication to student success and institutional excellence.

Staff Mentoring & Service Award

We encourage nominations of staff who go above and beyond to nurture meaningful connections, a sense of belonging, and embodying Methodist University’s dedication to student success and institutional excellence.
