Bio:
Matthew Shealy was hired in January of 2023. He graduated from Winthrop University in May of 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication and a minor in Coaching.
While at Winthrop, Shealy served as the sports editor for the campus newspaper The Johnsonian as a junior and senior, covering athletics in the Rock Hill area as well as all of Winthrop’s Division I sports teams, including the 2020-21 men’s basketball team that earned a 12-seed in the NCAA Tournament. As the sports editor, he was recognized twice by the South Carolina Press Association for his sports writing, and he was one of two students to receive the 2022 J. William Click Outstanding Senior in Journalism award presented by the Winthrop University Department of Mass Communication.
