Welcome to the Methodist University School of Health Sciences Department of Nursing web page. I, along with the Nursing faculty and staff, are excited that you are considering Methodist to begin your career in the field of Nursing!
The Traditional BSN pre-licensure program prepares graduates as nurse generalists who are poised to take the National Council Licensing Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). Passing this exam leads to licensure as a Registered Nurse and begins the graduate’s journey in the rewarding field of professional nursing. Our first class of pre-licensure students began this program at Methodist in the fall of 2012 with initial approval from the North Carolina Board of Nursing (NCBON). Two years later, in May of 2014, our first 17 graduates earned their BSN degrees. That same year, the NCBON granted us full board approval and the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accredited our BSN program for five years.
We believe our program will prepare you for a wide variety of roles in the nursing profession as well as for graduate studies when you choose to advance your career. Nurses are integral partners in the health care team and you will play a major role in transforming the delivery of health care.
Please feel free to explore our web page and discover more about what Methodist University Nursing can help you achieve. The faculty and I are here to assist you to succeed with your goals and we look forward to having you as a student!
