Dr. Bonnie Hartley Faust is a distinguished healthcare leader, educator, and advocate for advancing nurse executives into senior leadership roles. She serves as an Assistant Professor of Healthcare Administration at Methodist University in Fayetteville, North Carolina, where she mentors future healthcare leaders and contributes to the ongoing dialogue on executive leadership in nursing.
With a career spanning multiple hospitals and healthcare facilities in Maryland; Washington, D.C.; and North Carolina, Dr. Faust has held leadership positions, most recently serving as Vice President for Patient Care and Chief Nursing Officer across three North Carolina facilities. Her clinical expertise and strategic leadership have positioned her as a strong advocate for operational efficiency, patient-centered care, and professional development for nurse leaders.
Dr. Faust holds a Bachelor and Master of Nursing degrees from the University of Maryland, an MBA from the University of Baltimore, and a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from Carolina University. As a Fellow of the American Organization of Healthcare Executives, she is deeply committed to expanding leadership opportunities for nurses at the executive level.
A passionate proponent of board service for nurse leaders, Dr. Faust has served on the boards of Hospice of the Piedmont, The University of North Carolina School of Nursing, and Advanced Home Care, advocating for nurse representation in governance and strategic decision-making. In addition to her professional pursuits, she is a lay minister for the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America and a volunteer chaplain for Hospice of the Piedmont, underscoring her commitment to compassionate care and service.
Dr. Faust and her husband, Fritz, enjoy life on their 20-acre property, sharing their home with their two joyful dogs, Bella and Murphy.
