Bio:
Dana Thimons is the Medical Librarian for the Methodist University Cape Fear Valley Health School of Medicine and Assistant Professor in the Department of Foundational Sciences. She provides reference services, research consultations, publication support, and instruction to acquaint users with library resources and support evidence-based medicine. Additionally, she collaborates broadly to ensure that the School of Medicine has access to library resources and tools to facilitate its mission.
Thimons has over 10 years of experience in health sciences libraries and medical education publishing. She completed a one-year fellowship at the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy through the Grace and Harold Sewell Memorial Fund Learning Partnership. Prior to joining MU CFVH School of Medicine, she was the Health Sciences Librarian at Xavier University of Louisiana.
Thimons earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from Florida Gulf Coast University, Master of Library and Information Studies from Florida State University, and Master of Science in Health Law with a concentration in regulatory compliance from Nova Southeastern University. She is a senior member of the Medical Library Association’s Academy of Health Information Professionals.
