Bio:

Erin Harvell, Ed.D., is the Manager of Faculty Affairs and Faculty Development Operations at Methodist University’s Cape Fear Valley Health School of Medicine, where she leads initiatives to support and advance faculty success. With over a decade of experience in academic operations, educator development, and curriculum leadership, she brings a deep understanding of the systems and strategies that foster faculty growth and institutional excellence.

In her current role, Dr. Harvell oversees faculty data systems, manages faculty performance assessment processes, and coordinates development programs that strengthen teaching, scholarship, and professional advancement. Her work reflects a strong commitment to cultivating environments in which faculty thrive and contribute meaningfully to the mission of academic medicine.

Dr. Harvell earned her Doctor of Education in Professional Leadership from Converse University, where her research examined institutional legitimacy in South Carolina’s public education system through a critical rhetorical and discursive analytic lens. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Music from Erskine College (2016) and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Clemson University (2017).
