Bio:
Graham P. Shaw, Ph.D., MBA, is a Professor of Biochemistry with more than three decades of experience teaching biochemistry and related foundational sciences in medical and health-professions education. He earned his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Aston University in Birmingham, England, where his research focused on the biochemical regulation of gastric acid secretion. His academic career has included faculty positions in the United Kingdom, California, and Florida, with more than two decades at Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine.
Dr. Shaw’s work has increasingly focused on medical education, curriculum innovation, and student success. He has led initiatives in technology-enhanced learning, holistic admissions, curriculum development, accreditation, and faculty mentoring, and has published extensively in medical education and higher-education leadership. At Methodist University Cape Fear Valley Health School of Medicine, his interests include integrating clinically relevant biochemistry into the Clinical Presentation curriculum, developing active and case-based learning experiences, and exploring the responsible use of artificial intelligence to enhance medical education.
