Bio:
Kierra Carter, Ph.D., LPC-S, LCMHC, NCC, CLC serves as an assistant professor in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program at Methodist University. She primarily teaches Family Counseling, Career Development & Counseling, and Lifespan Development. Dr. Carter’s areas of expertise include mental health in underrepresented populations. Awards and recognitions she has received include: Claflin University’s 40 under 40 Outstanding Leaders Award, Langston University Doctoral Fellow 2023-2024, Palmetto Youth Academy’s Girls Rock Award, Hopkins Middle School Award of Excellence, The Issac Wilson Project Trail Blazer Award, and Pee Dee Mental Health Center Leadership in Mental Health Award. Dr. Carter received her Ph.D. from North Carolina A&T State University and her M.A. from South Carolina State University.
