Bio

Laura Mars, Ph.D., is Assistant Professor of Psychology at Methodist University. She primarily teaches General Psychology, Theories of Personality, Social Psychology, Memory and Cognition, Health Psychology, and Principles of Learning. While in the U.S. Army, Dr. Mars attended and graduated from Methodist College. Her love of education began almost 20 years ago when she left the military and began teaching. As a veteran, she is primarily interested in the challenges and topics related to the military family. Dr. Mars’ areas of expertise include veterans and spouses, child development, and health psychology. She serves as advisor of the MU Psychology Club. In her spare time, Laura enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, gardening, and cooking. Laura received the Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Health Psychology from Walden University.
