Bio:

Dr. Lenny Salzberg has a long career in health professions leadership having served as Director of the Duke/ Southern Regional Family Medicine Residency in Fayetteville, N.C.; Director of the Southern Regional AHEC Diabetes Fellowship Program; Director of the Southern Regional AHEC Faculty Development Fellowship; and Director of the Southern Regional AHEC Women’s Health Fellowship. He founded and directed SmokeFree Fayetteville, a non-profit organization devoted to helping people quit smoking. He chaired the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine’s Group on Faculty Development and was a founder of the American College of Diabetology, for whom he currently serves as the Chair.

Salzberg received his M.D. from the Albany Medical College of Union University and completed residency education at the Fayetteville Area Health Education Family Medicine Residency program. He completed the Duke Faculty Development Fellowship, the National Institute of Program Directors Development Fellowship, and the Wildacres Initiative William C. Friday Fellowship for Human Relations. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
