Bio:
Loretta Holmes, PT, DPT, EdD, is an Assistant Professor at Methodist University. Her primary teaching responsibilities include Foundations for PT Practice, Teaching and Learning, Biophysical Agents, Diagnostic Imaging and Medical Screening for the Upper and Lower Extremities, and Fundamentals of Business and Leadership in Physical Therapy. Her research interests include improving HEP adherence, understanding barriers to implementing recommended practice guidelines, and injury prevention.
Dr. Holmes has treated a wide range of patient populations in the outpatient, acute care, and long-term care settings. She had the honor of working with our Veteran and Active Duty Populations. Most recently, she served active-duty military personnel in a musculoskeletal outpatient clinic, where she also managed a sick call clinic. Throughout her career, she has been deeply committed to education, serving as a clinical instructor and mentoring students in both acute and outpatient environments.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Winston-Salem State University, a post-professional Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of St. Augustine, and a Doctorate in Education (EdD) in Kinesiology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
