Bio:

Dr. Martin is an Assistant Professor of Healthcare Administration in the College of Health Sciences and Human Services. She has been a credentialed Paramedic and Level II Paramedic instructor for more than 20 years. She spent the majority of her career as an administrator overseeing clinical education and served as the Program Director for the first Bachelor degree in Emergency Medical Care in the nation. Melisa completed her Associate of Applied Science in Emergency Medical Science at Southwestern Community College, a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Medical Care with a concentration in Science and a Master of Health Science in Education from Western Carolina University, and a Doctorate in Education Technology from Boise State University. Dr. Martin serves as a reviewer for the Prehospital Care Research Forum and is a founding member of the Foundation for Prehospital Medicine Research. Her research interests include student assessment (particularly in the psychomotor domain), simulation, and education technologies.
