Bio:
Paul Webster Craig, PhD, MS, CPT, CNC, is an Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy at Methodist University. His primary teaching responsibilities include graduate-level courses in Medical Physiology, Exercise Physiology, and Nutrition for Physical Therapy, as well as undergraduate courses in Concepts of Fitness and Wellness and Live Like a Gladiator. His research interests include applied biomechanics in special populations, mentoring and faculty development, resistance training and human performance, and the nutrition behaviors of collegiate athletes.
Dr. Craig has worked with diverse patient populations in cardiac rehabilitation and continues to actively train clients in strength and conditioning. He is highly engaged with the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), where he regularly presents scholarly work. His recent publications include research in the Chronicle of Mentoring and Coaching examining the integration of clinical faculty into academia. He is currently developing an Exercise Physiology Laboratory Manual for Rehabilitation with Human Kinetics. In his first year of teaching, Dr. Craig was awarded the 2025 Distinguished Professor of the Year at Methodist University.
Dr. Craig earned his PhD in Health Sciences with a concentration in Exercise Science from Liberty University, a Master of Science in Exercise Science with a concentration in Nutrition and Wellness, and a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science with a minor in Health and Physical Education from Methodist University. He also holds certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a Certified Personal Trainer and Certified Nutrition Coach.
