Methodist University will welcome prospective students and their families to campus on April 11 for a Spring 2026 Open House, featuring academic exploration, campus connection, engaging conversation, and a firsthand look into life as a Monarch.
The program – open to all prospective students and their families but mostly targeted to high school (grades 9-12), transfer, military/veterans, and adult learners − kicks off with a welcome session at 9 a.m., then transitions into faculty & resource showcases and multiple financial aid info sessions. Campus tours will begin at 9:30 a.m. Guests should register for the event at methodist.edu/open-house.
“The campus visit experience is an essential part of a student’s college search,” said Andre Richburg, Ed.D., vice president for Strategic Enrollment. “Allowing prospective students and their families to connect with MU faculty and staff facilitates a sense of trust and lets them see that our campus is accessible and accepting.”
Richburg also says while various brochures have and continue to be utilized along with helpful information on the website, nothing beats the feeling of stepping foot on campus.
“Being able to read about MU is great, it is another thing to be able to come to campus and get a feel for how students are embraced and supported,” he said. “By getting the opportunity to speak with academic support services, faculty members, and members of our admissions team, students are provided with information that we hope excites them about becoming a Monarch.”
Prospective students and their families will not only have the opportunity to meet faculty, admissions counselors, explore academic programs, and learn more about student life, but they’ll also have the opportunity to attend MU athletic contests and have lunch in the Green & Gold Dining Hall to further highlight the Monarch experience.
Prospective students can also apply to MU on the spot or check their application status during the event. Richburg encourages families to arrive prepared with questions.
“The college search process can certainly be an overwhelming one,” Richburg said. “It has to be done carefully and strategically based on what students are looking for fit, size, programs offered, support services, and career opportunities. It is important to connect with the admissions team as they are trained to ease the angst that many prospective students and their families feel.”
