The stage is set for the next alumni class of Monarchs as more than 300 graduates prepare to celebrate Methodist University’s Commencement 2026 on April 25, at 10 a.m. at the Crown Coliseum.
The Class of 2026 – both undergraduate and graduate students − has left its mark on campus through academics, leadership, service, athletics and more. Now that hard work becomes a milestone with one celebratory walk across the coliseum stage in front of family and friends.
This year’s ceremony will feature keynote speaker Jenny Buccos, an award-winning media director and producer known for her work in STEM education and applied learning concepts that connect students to careers worldwide.
Buccos is the founder of ProjectExplorer.org, one of the earliest video learning platforms designed for students in K-12. The platform launched in 2003, just before the start of YouTube. She has produced close to 500 educational films on global cultures, history, and learning experiences, with that content used in thousands of schools and viewed by students worldwide. She has been named a White House Champion of Change and recognized among the Top 100 Innovators in K-12 Education. Her work continues to bridge education, culture, and innovation through initiatives like EXPLR and the National STEM Festival.
That same creativity and attention on applied learning seen in Buccos’ work is evident at MU with recent events like Symposium Week, in which graduating seniors presented research and projects that highlight their growth and their readiness to take on what’s next.
