While classes may begin on the Methodist University campus on August 24, the newest Monarchs (and their families and friends) begin arriving a few days earlier for the annual New Student Orientation.
Starting August 21, with activities scheduled through the weekend, new students will say hello to MU while parents and friends will have an opportunity to help them unpack, get settled, and say goodbye for a semester. It’s an action-packed couple of days that begins a journey of connections, opportunities, and excellence.
“Through NSO, new students have several opportunities such as being able to meet your RA (resident assistant), meet your student orientation leaders, and even the president of the University,” said Tucker Samuelian, the 2026-27 Student Government Association president. “We can’t wait to meet all of the new students and kick off the semester.”
During NSO, students will learn about the many resources that are available at MU, meet fellow students, settle into their residences, and have fun! Just some of the scheduled events include Monarch Madness (interactive games, music, and more), Residence Hall Check-In and Meetings, Meet Your Major (spending time with faculty), Commuter and Transfer-Student Meetings, Campus Tours; and a Family Picnic.
There’s also a special Family/Supporter schedule that allows them to join their student for a meaningful experience as they are officially welcomed into the Monarch community. It’s a chance to share this special milestone and celebrate the start of their journey together.
