While hundreds of first-year students, international students, and student-athletes, are arriving on the Methodist University main campus this week, the full community (that includes returning students plus the entire group of faculty and staff) doesn’t completely come together until the first classes of the 2026 Fall Semester begin on Monday, Aug. 24.

Known as the “Week of Welcome” at MU, the opportunities to get back into the swing of a school year are plentiful and go well beyond the classrooms and athletic facilities. The Week of Welcome is a celebration of the now and of things to come, and departments and organizations across campus have put together a schedule of events to help everyone reconnect and get off to a great start.
The first Week of Welcome event is actually held the night of Aug. 23, as all are invited to “Cool Down with the D9” (music, games, treats, and the Divine Nine National Pan-Hellenic Council community). Events are then held daily through Aug. 31 including water games, a LEGO Night, Open Houses for One Stop and Military & Veteran Services, and the annual Kickback with the Monarchs (more food, more fun, more games and giveaways!).
The full schedule of Welcome Week events is available on our web site.
