New Faculty Orientation

New Faculty Orientation is a key component of welcoming and integrating new faculty into our academic community. This program introduces participants to essential institutional resources, policies, and opportunities that support their professional success and career development.

The orientation is designed to provide foundational knowledge in areas such as faculty roles and responsibilities, promotion pathways, mentorship, and available academic and wellness resources.

The NFO is held twice annually—in September and March—as a two-hour virtual or in-person event. All newly appointed faculty are strongly encouraged to attend.

An announcement email with dates and registration details will be sent to all faculty once the sessions are scheduled each year.

For details about the next scheduled session or to register, please contact the Faculty Affairs and Faculty Development Office at [email protected]

Onboarding

To further support a meaningful and informed transition into our academic community, the School of Medicine offers an extended Academic New Faculty Orientation (NFO) Seminar Series.

While this series is especially designed for faculty who have joined within the past three years, all faculty are encouraged to participate. The content is relevant across career stages and appointment types, addressing topics that support long-term academic success and engagement.

Faculty may register for individual sessions based on their interests and schedules—attendance at every session is not required.
