Mission Statement

The mission of the Monarch Tutoring Center is to offer all students at Methodist University the opportunity to strengthen their academic performance through the utilization of tutoring services.

Monarch Tutoring Center Goals

  1. To offer excellent tutoring sessions to all students who request this service
  2. To seek opportunities to increase student awareness and usage of tutoring service

Monarch Peer Tutors

Peer tutors are students at Methodist University who are upperclassmen with strong performance records in specific disciplines. All peer tutors have a 3.0 GPA or higher with no grade lower than a B in their tutoring subject area. In addition, peer tutors have been recommended to the Monarch Tutoring Center by faculty members in their area.

Tutor Ambassadors

Tutor ambassadors are student who tutor in subject areas that are not used as often in the Monarch Tutoring Center. We have a tutor ambassador for all major general education subjects.

Tutoring Services

Academic tutoring is available to all Methodist University students. Students may come to the One Stop location in the Davis Memorial Library when seeking out our academic tutoring support services. You will be able to schedule appointments or attain services through walk-in appointments or through our WCONLINE system. Students should bring books and applicable supplementary materials that can aid our support staff in assisting you with your academic endeavors. Supplemental Instruction Tutoring

Sessions held in Fall/Spring Semesters in Allison Hall during the scheduled times. No appointments are necessary.

  • Sunday: 3 – 9 p.m.
  • Monday-Thursday: 9 a.m. – 11 p.m.
  • Friday: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Saturday: Closed
