Offered both on campus and online, the Exercise and Sports Science major with a concentration in Exercise Physiology provides students with the necessary skills to evaluate, recognize, and implement individual approaches to health and exercise performance. These skills are bolstered by coursework in sports nutrition, exercise physiology, biomechanics, strength and conditioning, and personal training. Graduates will be able to conduct fitness assessments, provide appropriate exercise prescriptions, and provide effective methods of motivation and health promotion in athletic, healthy, and/or clinical populations. Completion of this degree will help prepare students to sit for certification exams offered by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM).
