Family Supporter Check-in | 9 a.m.-1 p.m. | Huff/Residence Halls
Families and supporters will begin the day through a convenient mobile drive-thru check-in experience designed to provide a smooth and welcoming start to the Monarch journey. Guests will remain in their vehicles while university staff assist with check-in verification, schedule and materials distribution, and important event information. Following check-in, families and supporters will be guided to designated parking areas and next steps for the day’s programming. Our team will be available throughout the process to ensure a seamless, organized, and supportive welcome to the Methodist University community.
Start Your MU Journey (Residential Students) | 5-5:30 p.m. | Huff Concert Hall
Join your student for a meaningful welcome experience as they are officially welcomed into the Monarch community, allowing you to share in this special milestone and celebrate the start of their journey together.
Family Picnic | 5:30-7 p.m. | Berns Student Center/Quad
Enjoy this special time together while connecting with the MU community and celebrating your student’s welcome into the Monarch community as they begin their journey. RSVP by August 14.
Family/Supporter Trivia Night | 7-9 p.m. | Scrub Oaks
Join us for an optional, fun evening just for families and supporters—a chance to unwind, connect with others, and enjoy being part of the MU community. There is limited parking on site, so a shuttle from campus will be provided every half hour to and from the event. RSVP here.

Join our One Stop staff for this welcoming academic session designed to help you understand how MU supports your student’s success. You’ll learn about the resources, services, and caring professionals who are here to guide and support your student every step of the way.
Building Your MU Experience | 10:30-11 a.m. | Huff Concert Hall
Gain insight into student involvement and campus life while learning how your student will explore opportunities, connect with others, and make the most of their experience at Methodist University.
From Move-in to Milestone – Supporting Your Monarch | 11 a.m.-Noon | Huff Concert Hall
Join a panel of MU alumni as they share their personal experiences, lessons learned, and perspectives on the student journey. You’ll gain helpful insight on supporting your student’s independence while also having the opportunity to ask questions and connect.
Lunch (On Your Own) | Noon-1:30 p.m.

Letting Go, Staying Connected | 1:45-2:30 p.m. | Huff Concert Hall
As your student begins this exciting new chapter, this session will help you navigate the transition of letting go while staying connected. You’ll learn how to support their independence, encourage their growth, and feel confident in your role as they begin their journey at MU.
Monarch Connections Fair | 2:30-3:30 p.m. | Riddle Center
Explore the many opportunities available to your student as they begin their journey—building connections, getting involved, and discovering their place in the Monarch community.
