Jason Greene Named MU’s New Chief Information Officer

Methodist University President Stanley T. Wearden announced the hiring of Jason Greene as the University’s new Chief Information Officer.

“I am delighted to announce the appointment of Jason Greene,” said Wearden. “Jason’s experience in medical center IT leadership and decision making will be tremendously helpful to us as we launch the MU School of Medicine. Please join me in welcoming Jason to the MU leadership team.”

As Chief Information Officer, Greene will oversee the University’s strategy for information technology, network security, and day-to-day responsibilities of Information Technology Services. He will also sit on the Administrative Cabinet, which works directly with Wearden and the Board of Trustees to further the University’s mission.

“I am very excited and looking forward to this opportunity,” Greene said. “When President Wearden offered me this job, I was ecstatic. This is a tremendous opportunity to take my experience and move it to the next level in higher education. I’m looking forward to working the entire IT team and making an impact on faculty, staff, and students here at Methodist University.”

In his role, Greene will also assist with information technology related to Methodist University and Cape Fear Valley Health’s intent to establish a state-of-the-art school of medicine. He carries 20 years of information technology experience in the world of healthcare, including most recently as the director of Application Technology and Support Services for Lexington Medical Center in Columbia, South Carolina.

Greene’s previous stops include Hanover Medical Specialists, Carolina Pediatrics of Wilmington, and Computer Connections. He also earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Colorado State University Global.

“We want to help all of our students, faculty, and staff,” Greene added. “If there’s anything we can do to make their experience better from an information technology perspective, our door is always open.”
