On Thursday evening, Methodist University will officially launch “ZeeMee” – a social media platform that connects prospective students in a very interactive and engaging way. In addition to traditional social platforms, MU is utilizing the app as it is compatible with how much of Gen Z communicates online.
Through ZeeMee, prospective students can make new friends before arriving on campus, chat with currently enrolled MU students, join interest-based communities, and more.
“ZeeMee is a valuable social media platform for college admissions,” said Jenifer Vargas, admissions counselor at Methodist University. “With ZeeMee, we’re able to meet students where they already are – on their phones, in real-time.”
ZeeMee allows MU to create dedicated spaces for incoming students to connect with each other. These features are designed with functions tailored to modern digital habits. According to Vargas, this makes it easier to foster community before students even arrive on campus. For example, a prospective student would have the opportunity to find a roommate with similar interests by exploring channels ranging from hobbies, majors, and shared interests.
With MU’s fall 2025 class already showing strong engagement (more than 150 followers before the official launch!) and more from the class that is coming to MU in 2026, the admissions team sees great interaction and success ahead. “They’re very excited to share their stories and experiences,” Vargas said.
