Community Engagement Manager D'Asia Johnson at Fayetteville Cares

Community Engagement at the School of Medicine

At Methodist University Cape Fear Valley Health School of Medicine, community engagement is an important part of the student experience. Through partnerships with nonprofit organizations, public agencies, healthcare organizations, and community leaders, our students contribute to meaningful service, health education, outreach, and community-based initiatives throughout southeastern North Carolina.

Community engagement gives students opportunities to learn directly from the people and organizations serving our region. Students support community events, health education efforts, resource distribution, outreach initiatives, and other non-clinical service activities while developing a deeper understanding of the social and community factors that influence health and well-being.

Our goal is to build reciprocal, sustainable relationships that create value for both our students and the communities we serve.
