Founders Council Golf Pro-Am Tournament

Join us for the 2025 Founders Council Methodist University Golf Tournament, presented by Brown Advisory! Taking place on Wednesday, November 5, this exclusive event offers a rare chance to play Methodist University’s private on-campus course, known as “Downback.” Teams of three will be paired with an MU student for a one-of-a-kind foursome for a fun day of connection, camaraderie, and impact. It’s sure to be a hole-in-one experience you won’t want to miss! Registration opens July 1, 2025.

Event Schedule

• 9-10:15 a.m.: Registration and Driving Range Open
• 9:30 a.m.: Meal Served (please arrive no later than 10:15 a.m.)
• 10:30 a.m.: Opening Remarks and Group Photo
• 11 a.m.: Shotgun Start (snacks and drinks provided)
• 4 p.m.: Awards Presentation and Dinner

Every swing, drive, and putt at the Golf Pro-Am Tournament helps create meaningful opportunities for Methodist University students. Proceeds support the MU Loyalty Fund for student scholarships as well as our nationally recognized PGA Golf Management program, empowering the next generation of leaders in the golf industry and beyond.

Pro-Am Format with a Twist

This walking-only, invite-only tournament is limited to 54 players. Teams of three will be paired with a Methodist University Golf Management student, competing in a shamble format. All players tee off, the best shot is selected, and then everyone plays their own ball from that spot. Scores are calculated using one low-gross and one low-net score per hole (from different players), with handicaps factored at 75%. Student caddies will be provided for each team.

Play a Private Championship Course

Join us for a rare opportunity to play Methodist University’s exclusive 18-hole, par-71 course—home to one of the nation’s top PGA-accredited Golf Management programs. Recently renovated and ranked among the “Top 50 Private Ranges” by the Golf Range Association of America, this 6,370-yard course offers a uniquely challenging and scenic experience on our beautiful campus.
