About This Site
Digitization of the Carolina College Collection was made possible through a North Carolina State Library - LSTA - NC ECHO Digitization Starter Grant. Arleen Fields, Archives Librarian, scanned and edited the images and designed the web page layout. David Hodgins, Access Services Librarian, provided css advice and graciously tweaked the JAlbum presentations for style and content. Kathy Wisser of NC ECHO got the EAD version of the finding aid to work.
The materials presented in this current online exhibit comprise only a sample of the materials that we intend to make available. Over the next several years, the complete photo collection, images of artifacts, and the complete records of the Carolina College Alumnae Association will be made available.
We welcome donations of materials related to Carolina College. We hope that this web site will provide more visibility for the school and for the collection and will spur others to search their basements and attics for materials which will add more depth to our collection.
Please contact the Methodist University Archives for more information.
Equipment used to digitize images was purchased with LSTA funds made possible through a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, administered by the State Library of North Carolina, a division of the Department of Cultural Resources through the North Carolina ECHO, 'Exploring Cultural Heritage Online' Digitization Grant Program.
