Accreditation

Methodist University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). The University will submit a substantive change prospectus for the medical education program to SACSCOC for approval.

The Methodist University Cape Fear Valley Health School of Medicine is currently an applicant program with the Liaison Commission on Medical Education (LCME).

Please note that because Methodist University is planning to pursue SACSCOC approval and LCME accreditation for the proposed medical education program, only limited information regarding the program can currently be shared. The college cannot publish admission requirements nor consider any applicants to the program at this time.

The Methodist University medical school in partnership with Cape Fear Valley aims to begin classes in July 2026 pending approval by the LCME and SACSCOC.
