Methodist University Cape Fear Valley Health School of Medicine has been granted PRELIMINARY ACCREDITATION from the Liaison Committee on Medical Education. Methodist University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), who has approved the addition of the medical education program.
Cape Fear Valley Health Scholarship
Every student in the first two entering classes of the Methodist University Cape Fear Valley Health School of Medicine will receive a total of $40,000 in institutional gift aid. This gift will be allocated across the four-year medical school program and applied directly toward the cost of tuition. This commitment reflects our belief in investing in the pioneering students who will shape the future of healthcare in southeastern North Carolina and beyond.

The Class of 2031 Admissions Cycle (with a Fall 2027 start) is now open.
The AMCAS application opens in May of each year. Applications are open a year in advance.
Due Dates for 2027 Entry
- July 1 – Review of Candidates Begins
- November 16 – AMCAS Application Due
- November 30 – Secondary Application Due
MCAT Acceptance Dates
- Earliest MCAT Accepted: June 2023
- Latest MCAT Accepted: October 2026
