Letters of Recommendation
Applicants are required to submit letters of recommendation as part of their initial application. All letters of recommendation should be uploaded through the AMCAS letter service.
A committee letter or packet is recommended; if applicants are unable to submit a committee packet, three letters of recommendation are acceptable.
Letters may be from a combination of the following:
- A professor who can speak to your academic abilities
- Physicians you have shadowed or other medical professional who you have worked with
- A supervisor or employer
- A pre-health advisor
- An individual who can speak to your commitment to service
Letters may not be from the following:
- Friends or family members
- Coworkers or peers
Applicants should select evaluators who will write them a strong letter. Any re-applicants will need to request new letters of recommendation be uploaded, as they do not roll over in the AMCAS system.
