Bio:

Ben Jones, PT, DPT, ATC, is an Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy at Methodist University, where he primarily teaches musculoskeletal coursework in the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program. His research interests include cervical and temporomandibular joint dysfunction and pain, musculoskeletal teaching strategies and clinical reasoning, and written examination strategies for physical therapy programs.  Dr. Jones is deeply invested in student success and has delivered both university and statewide presentations on test-taking strategies for DPT curricula and national physical therapy licensure examinations. He has also presented multiple posters at APTA conventions on topics such as knee torques at varying velocities, changes in fitness levels among DPT students, validity and reliability of ankle range-of-motion measurements during functional squats using goniometry versus virtual applications, and outcomes related to blood flow restriction training following ACL reconstruction.

Dr. Jones has worked as an athletic trainer since 2005 across a wide range of populations, including outpatient orthopaedics and high school, collegiate, and professional athletics. He has practiced as a licensed physical therapist since 2010 in diverse settings, including outpatient physical therapy, aquatic therapy, home health care, and sports medicine.

He is an American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) Board-Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist and a National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Dr. Jones earned bachelor’s degrees in Athletic Training, Physical Education (Exercise Science), and Biology from the College of Charleston and received his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from A.T. Still University’s Arizona School of Health Sciences.
