Bio:

Dr. Edwards completed his B.A. in Psychology/Communication Studies at UNC Charlotte in 1997.  He earned a Master of Arts in Organizational Communication in 1999 from Murray State University.  His Doctor of Education degree, earned in 2006 from NC State University, specializes in Higher Education Administration.

His scholarly interests include leadership communication, cultural communication, and the scholarship of teaching and learning.

Dr. Edwards regularly teaches the following courses:

  • ACL 1500 Introduction to Interpersonal Communication
  • ACL 1510 Speech Communication
  • ACL 3600 Exploring Cross-Cultural Communication
  • LSS 2850 Collegiate Leadership Competition

Additionally, he serves as the Director of the Lura S. Tally Center for Leadership at Methodist University and as the Executive Director for the Institute for Community Leadership for the 2019-2020 and the 2020-2021 terms.
