Moving the Needle: Ensuring Student Success
“Moving the Needle” on retention and graduation rates for all students; engaging campus experiences; high quality academic programs; excellent and compassionate teaching and academic support services; clear paths to degree; recruitment for retention; easy-to-navigate institutional systems and information.
Extending the MU Reach
Relationships with community colleges and transfer friendliness; growth of MU Online; outreach to military community with academic programs (for-credit) and workforce training/certificates (non-credit); deepening community partnerships and connections.
Highlighting Career Readiness & Experiential Learning
Career center; early internships/professional experience; on-campus internships; classrooms connected to community organizations and industry partners.
Committing to Equity & Racial Healing
President’s Task Force on Racial Healing; equitable policies and practices for all students; all-campus equity training; student listening sessions; a place for members of the campus community to go when they have concerns related to race, color, creed, national origin, sex, age, disability, or veteran status.
Increasing Endowment Support Scholarships
Preparation for capital campaign. The need to grow endowment to decrease the pressure on the University operating fund.
