Writing & Tutoring Center Staff

	Carolina is a junior at Methodist University studying psychology. She enjoys painting, reading books, writing poetry, playing chess and Rummy, and leading Women’s Bible Study every Thursday on campus. She also likes video games. In addition to helping students thrive on campus, Carolina strongly promotes advocacy for the university’s Collegiate Recovery Program.
	Emily is a senior at Methodist University pursing her degree in Biology. Her interests include writing and helping out her residents and the rest of the Methodist University Community. Outside of Methodist University, Emily loves to go on hikes or spend time with friends.
	Gemini is a freshman majoring in Integrative Biology and minoring in History and Education. After graduating, they plan to pursue a Ph.D. in Paleontology and teach English as a second language in other countries. They are currently a member of Writer’s Ink, Tabletop Explorers, Methodist Art Club, and a volunteer for SAC. In their free time, they are usually found writing their own stories, reading books, or playing games with friends.
	Jonathan is a Finite Math tutor here at Methodist University. His major is Secondary Education with a focus in History. He also plays football here and is a member of the Leadership Fellows Program.
	Jordan is a senior majoring in English. She is a commuter and a student of the Honors Program. Jordan is the president of the University’s only creative writing club, Writer’s Ink, and a member of the Black Student Union. In her free time, Jordan enjoys reading horror novels and exploring Fayetteville.
	Katie is a junior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in PGA Golf Management and a minor in Psychological Aspects of Sports and Coaching. Post graduation, she wants to become a golf instructor at an academy at a private golf course. She has always really enjoyed writing and hopes that she can help you find that love as well!
	Kelsey is a Health Care concentrated Biology major with a minor in Psychology. She is a commuter and a non-traditional student. In her free time, she enjoys reading mystery novels and spending time with her animals.
	Megan was born and raised in North Carolina. She is a senior biology major who is interested in studying molecular biology but is interested in many other subjects. She loves art and does painting and photography.
	Tucker is a freshman from Fayetteville, majoring in Business Administration and Political Science. On campus, he is involved in the Honors Program, Student Government Association, MU Drumline, MU Concert Band, and Lambda Chi Alpha. Following graduation, Tucker wishes to commission into the United States Armed Forces and later pursue a career in politics. In his free time, he enjoys reading classic novels, watching movies and TV, and spending time outdoors.

General Tutors

	Albert is a senior majoring in Financial Economics and minoring in mathematics. Studying economics and helping others understand its fundamental concepts are two passions of his. He plays the piano as a hobby.
	Ana is an international student double majoring in Industrial & Systems Engineering and Mathematics. She is from Guatemala, known by its people as the country of the Eternal Spring. Ana always tries to give the best of herself in all aspects of her life; that is why she will provide good assistance to students who need it.
	Bandile is your friendly tutor for all things math and science. From College Algebra up to Calculus II, from General Chemistry I & II to Organic Chemistry I & II, and even Anatomy & Physiology, he’s got you covered. With a passion for these subjects and a knack for breaking down tough concepts, he’s here to guide you on your learning journey. He will work with you to tackle challenges, boost your understanding, and have a great time learning!
	Bryanna is a senior at Methodist. She is majoring in Financial Economics and Business Administration and minoring in International Business and Finance. She is a member of the Accounting Club and Alpha Sigma Alpha at Methodist. She is very excited to be able to help everyone in their academic endeavors.
	Carolina is an international senior from Costa Rica who is majoring in Nursing and double minoring in Healthcare Administration and Psychology. After graduation, she plans to attend the Neonatal ICU Nursing Residency Program at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Beyond academics, Carolina is the president of the Rotaract Club and the Public Relations Chair for the Student Nurses Association.
	Charles is in his third year here studying Computer Science and mathematics. Methodist University has always been the school he thought he would go to as he grew up in Fayetteville all his life. When he is not attending my classes, he can often be found in the library or hanging out at events such as Ignite. Outside of school, he loves talking with friends, playing video games, and helping out at church. He looks forward to helping you succeed this semester, but please feel free to say hello even if you do not need a tutoring appointment!
	Heba is majoring in Political Science and minoring in Legal Studies and history. She plans to pursue a joint J.D./Ph.D. in Political Science after completing her undergraduate studies. In her free time, she particularly enjoys reading, running, writing, and baking for people! As for the soundtrack to her life, it’s hard to beat the timeless artistry of the Beatles and David Bowie.
	Iqbal is a junior nursing student. She tutors math. She loves watching movies and TV shows. Marvel over DC anytime!
	Jakob is currently a junior at Methodist University, triple majoring in engineering, mathematics, and Computer Science. He attended Cape Fear High School in Fayetteville before coming to Methodist. After he graduates, he hopes to get his master’s in electrical engineering.

	Kimmy is a senior engineering student. She enjoys doing math, but that does not mean it is always easy. A fun fact is that she is a black belt in martial arts.
	Loyiso is an international student from Swaziland, Southern Africa. He is an engineering major in his final year. In his free time, he likes to play soccer and basketball, and workout. He’s glad to meet you!
	Nicolas is originally from Burkina Faso in West Africa. He studied in Japan for two years, and he is currently a junior here at Methodist University. He is an engineering major and a math minor, but outside of school he loves working out and is a big anime fan.
	Tsetan (tsaythan) is a math tutor here to assist you with further understanding of your math class as well as any problems you’ve got. She wants to help you unlock the world of math and build a strong foundation for your academic success!
	Zed is a Junior majoring in Management with minors in Human Resources Management, Spanish, International Business, and Business Administration. He tutors Accounting and Spanish.

Student Representatives

	Ava is currently a senior here at MU majoring in Clinical/Counseling Psychology with a minor in Neuropsychology. Due to growing up in a military family, she has lived in several different states and countries! She is a cheerleader and a member of the Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority on campus. She enjoys traveling to new places and trying new things!
	Deaja is a Junior majoring in Middle grade education with a concentration in History. She is the Secretary of Methodist University’s creative writing club Writer’s Ink, and is in charge of marketing for the Student Activities Committee. She plans on becoming a middle school teacher upon graduation.
	Katherine is a junior here at MU, majoring in Sports Management and Business. After receiving her bachelor’s degree, she will be attending law school for her Juris Doctor degree.
	Mara is a student of Methodist University who is studying Business Administration and Financial Economics. She is 19 years old and belongs to an indigenous community in Columbia.
	Nicholas is a senior at Methodist University who is studying Business Administration and Management. Throughout his time at Methodist, he has developed skills that will translate into the real world in an impactful way. Nick holds several leadership positions in different organizations such as Greek Council President, Pi Kappa Alpha Treasurer, and President of the Fishing Club.
	Thora is from Norway/England. She is a freshman majoring in International Relations and Global Studies. She loves tennis, reading and cooking; feel free to come and say hello if you ever see her around!

CHAMPS Peer Assistants

	Aniyah is a senior from Concord, N.C. She will be graduating in May 2024 and currently has a 3.5 cumulative GPA. Aniyah has been a part of the volleyball team for the last two years and has been part of the Women’s basketball team for her entire collegiate career. Off the court, she can be seen involved around campus supporting her peers, working with CHAMPS or being a part of educational events. Aniyah is outgoing and likes to help not only student-athletes but anyone who crosses paths with her.
	Dorvie is double majoring in Business Administration and Computer Information Technology. She is currently a junior and is working as the Academic Success Coordinator’s Assistant. She loves food, travel, fashion, and entertainment.
	Julia is a biology major on the Pre-PA route, and she is also in the honors program. She plays volleyball and women’s lacrosse for Methodist. Fun fact: She can speak Portuguese fluently.
	Lynsey is a sophomore here at Methodist University. Her major is Accounting with a concentration in Health Care Administration. She plays for the softball team here at MU, and her favorite color is green.
