Methodist University announced the hiring of Dr. M. Wasi Haq as the University’s new medical provider.
As the physician for MU’s Student Health Center, Haq is now providing compassionate and quality health care to students through Methodist University’s Health & Counseling Services – which treats minor illnesses and injuries along with providing acute, preventative, and wellness care (such as physical examinations, laboratory services, and vaccinations) to all students.
Haq has worked in the public health sector in Cumberland County and surrounding areas since 1997, serving low-income and vulnerable populations. Most recently, he was the medical director at Wellpath Care for more than five years. He received his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from Nishtar Medical College in Multan, Pakistan.
“I am enjoying interacting with the students at Methodist University,” said Haq. “I am eager to learn about their specific medical needs and circumstances and helping them navigate through any challenge with compassion while creating opportunities with the best outcomes.”
Haq joins Lynetta Allen-Geddie, MU’s director of Health Services, who has 35-plus years of experience in the health care field herself. Together, Allen-Geddie and Haq will be able to provide patient-centered health care to students.
