Kaplan Nursing Entrance Exam

Upcoming Test Dates & Scheduling Information

This test is only available to currently accepted MU students.

All tests will be administered in the LIC room of the Davis Memorial Library. Seats are limited to 10 per session and are filled on a first come-first served basis.

The minimum overall score for admissions requirements is a 65. You may take the test twice during the application period. Repeat tests will be administered only on either Friday, Jan. 28 or Monday, Jan. 31.

To schedule your Kaplan Nursing Admissions test, please send your name, MU student ID number, and desired test date/time from the list below to nursingadmissions@methodist.edu. You will receive an email confirmation within 72 hours with additional instructions.

November

December

About the Kaplan Entrance Test

Kaplan’s Admission Test is a tool to determine if students have the academic skills necessary to perform effectively in a school of nursing. The Admission Test is a 91-question, multiple-choice test that evaluates the basic reading, math, writing and science skills of students seeking entry into a nursing program leading to NCLEX licensure. Copies are available for individual purchase online through sites such as Amazon and Barnes and Noble and may be available for check out at the Davis Memorial Library or your local library. Other study guide options include TEAS and HESI test prep books.

Methodist University’s Pre-Licensure Nursing Program requires an overall score of 65 on the Kaplan Admission Test. Scores are valid for three (3) years from the date taken. All scores must be on file with the Department of Nursing by the deadline date of February 1 to be considered with your application packet.
