Longleaf Press is the literary press at Methodist University. Each year, our writers are featured guests at Methodist University's Southern Writers Symposium. We are a non-profit press and depend upon grants, sales, and our annual chapbook contest to support our publishing efforts.

Longleaf Press is pleased to announce that, beginning January 2007, its current mission to publish only chapbook manuscripts from Southeastern poets will be expanded to include consideration of both chapbook-length and full-length manuscripts from poets in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern regions (CT, DC, DE, MA, MD, ME, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, and VT).

Longleaf Press proudly launches its expanded mission with the publication of Roger Weingarten’s full-length collection of poetry, Premature Elegy by Firelight, in January 2007.
